The French Civic Exam Explained

Who needs to take the exam?
Required for
Non-EU nationals applying for a carte de séjour pluriannuelle (CSP), a carte de résident (10 years), or French naturalisation. The exam must be passed before submitting the application.
Age exemptions
Over 65 years old for the carte de résident. Over 70 with 15+ years of legal residence in France for naturalisation. No age exemption for the CSP.
